Sebastiaan F.M. De Block is a sustainability entrepreneur, business developer and strategic communicator connecting innovation, entrepreneurship and organisational growth. He is the Founder and CEO of The Ecological Entrepreneur, where he helps companies turn sustainability ambitions into structured, measurable and commercially relevant strategies.His work focuses on embedding long-term environmental and societal value into business operations while strengthening market positioning. Sebastiaan combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution across sustainability strategy, stakeholder engagement and growth.

Earlier in his career, he built experience in business development and marketing. At Velocitas, he supported organisations with growth strategy and positioning as a Business Development Consultant and Business Developer. He also held commercial roles at Merluno (Sales & Marketing, 2019–2020) and BUBKA (Sales & Marketing, 2016–2017), contributing to campaign strategy and client development.

Sebastiaan has been active in entrepreneurship ecosystems since his student years. At Students for Innovation & Co-operation, he served as PR Director (2015–2016), President (2015–2016) and Chairman of the Board (2019–2021). In these roles, he built partnerships between students, organisations and companies, strengthening networks that support young entrepreneurs.

He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Economics from the University of Antwerp (magna cum laude). His interdisciplinary training connects ecological systems, economic transition and behavioural change, enabling integration of sustainability into viable business models.

Previously, he earned a Master’s degree in History and a Bachelor’s degree in History – Modern Times (both cum laude, University of Antwerp), where he also held student representation and governance roles.
