Margot is an intrapreneurial optimist with a strong track record in building entrepreneurial ecosystems and coaching young people. Her professional journey spans founding startups in retail and education, as well as working in real estate technology SaaS. These experiences shaped her practical understanding of entrepreneurship and led her to a clear mission: empowering student entrepreneurs to turn ideas into viable ventures.

Over the years, she has become a trusted business coach for student founders, supporting them in navigating all kinds of challenges. In parallel, she actively contributes to shaping policy and strategic frameworks around student entrepreneurship, working closely with higher education institutions and public partners.

In 2017, Margot founded Start up School, a life learning program designed to prepare students for full time entrepreneurship. Together with her team at Artevelde University of Applied Sciences, she helped build a strong entrepreneurial culture that was recognised in 2024 with the Young Entrepreneurial University of the Year award.

Today, she works with all universities in Ghent through Gentrepreneur, a one stop shop that connects student entrepreneurs to support, funding and expertise across the region. At a European level, she is involved in the Start For Future program, guiding young entrepreneurs digitally and supporting universities in strengthening their entrepreneurial education and innovation ecosystems.

In addition to her coaching and policy work, Margot is the author of “Je bent jong en je wilt… ondernemen”, a practical guide for young people exploring entrepreneurship.
